Client: Warung Sedap · Industry: Food & Beverage · Results at a glance: 50K monthly visitors · 15 #1 rankings · online orders +340%

The challenge

Warung Sedap started as a single stall in Bangsar, famous for their nasi lemak ayam goreng berempah. After expanding to 5 outlets, they realised they had zero digital presence.

The situation:

  • No website at all
  • Google Business Profiles barely filled out
  • Competitors dominating all "nasi lemak" searches
  • Missing out on the growing food delivery trend
  • No way for customers to find outlet locations

Our approach

We built their entire digital presence from zero:

Phase 1: Foundation (Month 1)

  • Designed and built a mobile-first website
  • Created individual pages for each outlet with local SEO
  • Optimised all 5 Google Business Profiles
  • Set up online ordering integration
  • Implemented delivery platform links (GrabFood, Foodpanda)

Phase 2: Content & SEO (Month 2–3)

  • Created a content strategy around Malaysian food culture
  • Published weekly blog posts targeting food-related searches
  • Built local citations across 50+ directories
  • Launched a review collection campaign

Phase 3: Growth (Month 4–6)

  • Expanded content to cover more search terms
  • Implemented schema markup for restaurants
  • Created location-specific landing pages
  • Built backlinks through food blogger partnerships

The results

After 6 months:

  • 50,000 monthly website visitors from essentially zero
  • 15 #1 rankings for valuable keywords including "best nasi lemak KL"
  • Online orders increased 340% across all platforms
  • Average Google rating improved to 4.7 across all outlets
  • 2 new outlets planned based on areas with high search demand

The client's take

"I'm a cook, not a tech person. I knew we needed to be online but had no idea where to start. KAizen handled everything — they built our website, got us ranking on Google, and even helped us set up online ordering. The growth has been incredible. We went from being invisible to being the top-ranked nasi lemak in KL according to Google." — Encik Hafiz, Founder

What made this work

  1. Mobile-first approach — 80% of food searches are on mobile
  2. Local SEO focus — Each outlet optimised for its specific area
  3. Content that matches intent — People search for food inspiration, not just restaurants
  4. Review velocity — More reviews = higher rankings = more customers
  5. Integration with delivery — Meet customers where they want to order
